HISTORY OF RGC

On the 7th day, god took a break, and told the Rednecks, "enjoy". Hence the beginning of the "Redneck Gamers Community".

The Redneck Gamers Community is a group of friends and guests that have a long history with each other. Members that represent the internal team are know as RGC members. RGC was formed in 2007 and was formerly known as RUT which stood for "Rednecks United Team". Some members on the RGC team have known each other going on 20 years and the ages of its members average around 30. When you are a part of RGC, we do not treat you as a player with our tags but instead as family.

RGC does not represent anything racist. We have members of different nationalities on this team and accept each other for who we are. We look at the definition of "Redneck" as a simple way of life. Having fun and not caring about everyday issues. Refer to the lower section of this page for a better explanation of what a "Redneck" means to us.

We have had outside teams and other visitors come in and think that we are ignorant and uneducated because of the word "Redneck" in our name. It is quite the opposite. Many of us are well educated. There are those of us in professional fields of work, including Law, military, and education fields, not to mention having a U.S. ex-president hanging out with us. Ok that last part isnt true. But that would be cool though. Anyway, don't assume that Rednecks are below you. You would be surprised how many Rednecks there are in this great country and others around the world.

So to break down the history of RGC, we have to start with the basics. We have over the years had many members that have been a part of us and many that have left. This is because of a various amount of reasons. Maybe it was because of how we operated things as a team, maybe it was our way of life here, maybe it was a new game that came out and they moved on. What we do know with most is either they moved on to other games that we were not representing at the time, or they did not fit in with who we are and how we do things. This is a fact with online gaming. It happens to all teams online.

We are a team that is big into racing, but many of our members do in fact play an assortment of other games, including RPG, and FPS style games. If a member finds a game to be interesting, they only need to mention it and share what they have found with the team to see if it peaks the interests of its members.

We are not a one-game team. In fact, at any given time, there are at least 3 games being played. Yet, we all hang out and in Teamspeak and talk and not isolate ourselves from each other. But there are times when that is needed and accepted.

RGC members and its online community do not represent just Americans. Again the term "Redneck" can apply to anyone. We have members from Europe, Africa, and Australia. Again, we do not judge you based on where you come from or who you are. We only care about your personality and how you fit in as another brick in the wall with RGC.

There are times when we don't get involved with online games when we are in our Teamspeak. This is because we are just hanging out and laughing over stupid stuff. Our conversations are always interesting and we like to have fun. This is why you have to be over 18 to be a member. In our Teamspeak, you will find not only members and guests, you will also see many other guests that we call "Honored Guests" from other teams hanging out with us. The frequently come in to hang out, play games and chat with us. Why? Because we have fun here.

Being a part of this team and hanging out in our Teamspeak is not in any way telling outsiders that we have no life, nor that we are irresponsible and immature people that play games. It is just our way of relaxing and doing things we enjoy to wind down from the hectics of real life and being with others that share the same interests. Think about it, some people head to the bars after work to socialize. Others grab a book and relax at home reading....ect.  We just find that socializing online and doing what we enjoy is our way to unwind. Nothing more, nothing less.

RGC has its own website, for example, the one your visiting right now. We have servers for the games that we play and always add more when needed. This comes at a price though. We do not expect members or visitors to pay a monthly fee for this either. Instead, members offer to set up such things for the benefit of the team as a whole. And if members or visitors want to help out, they can offer a donation. But this is not expected from anyone. Again RGC works as a team, and shares everything, but we do not expect anything in return.

Our structure within the Redneck Gamers Community is simple. For a player wanting to be a part of RGC, they simply need to ask. We will be more then happy to help you out. First, we will invite you into our Teamspeak server and ask you to hang out with us. We will then invite you to join RGC, if we feel you fit in with us. From this point, you will become a "Recruit" for 30 days allowing established members to get to know you and vice-versa. After 30 days, a vote will take place to pull you on as a full "Member". At this point, you have equal say in everything that takes place within the team. Members are equal to everyone, including the Admins of the team. We (admins) will always include its members in decisions that are to be made. You remain with a "Member" status for 6 months. This is to ensure the rest of us that you are dedicated to the team. Some members make it past the recruitment stage, only to leave a month or so later. So during this stage, you do not have voting rights. You may share your opinions and speak openly for the rest to hear. But only after 6 months will members be upgraded to "Veteran Member" status. At this point, you have full rights. You will be allowed to vote and fill in for an admin during our absence. It is that simple.

As with other teams, we do not have a leadership board or anything related to that meaning. We expect all members within RGC to be mature, when needed. We all work together and make decisions together. We do not tolerate drama within the team. If members have an issue we do our best to have them work it out with themselves or one on one with the person they are having a problem with. We do not want to include the team into personal issues. Our one and only rule that we enforce within the team is "Respect". We do not need a page full of rules to enforce. We are adults, so show respect, get respect.

So as you can see, our history with this team has out-lasted many other online gaming communities/teams/clans/crews...etc.

This is because of what we represent, and how we operate. RGC is always recruiting, but remember, you need to fit in with us, not the other way around. If you come in with an attitude of expecting things to be handed to you, well, you need to move on and hit a welfare team that is more interested in the amount of players they can get, other then quality of their members on their team.

If you are interested in joining RGC, just let any member know. If you are interested in just hanging out with us, then jump on in and hang out. No pressure. Welcome to the "Redneck Gamers Community".
